Hey, I found your books finally today at Kazoo Books in Kalamzoo....I picked up Play Dead & Sleep Tight.
i've read a few of the books. can't comment though since i'm a judge in another contest.
i remember thinking the CSI episode
Tarantino directed was really good. far-fetched, but i didn't care. i still thought it was great.
oh, and there's no way i'm going to go in and remove all those weird symbols. nope. nope. nope.
I thought that CSI episode was good too. I watched an interview with the actor saying that Tarantino would whisper things in his year to really creep him out to scream as he did when locked in the coffin. It's me, Kelly, I'm too lazy to log in blogger. ;)

Although the thought of T. whispering something into somebody's rear wouldn't really suprise me...

I don't know how these stories are nominated, but I'm both pleased and amazed to find David Wallace's A Kudzu Christmas "Welcome to Monroe" nominated for best short story. River City is a small publisher, and I didn't know anyone outside our area knew they even existed.
it is nice when a book by a small press gets recognized. i think anybody can enter the edgars, but i'm not sure how the judging process is handled. publishing houses often enter the books, i do know that.
I sent the edgars my handwritten, 10,000 page novel and they ignored it! What gives?
Actually, it's nice to see Tess in there, as well as Alison Gaylin. And, of course, St. Martin's made a nice showing.
As for screenplays, I'd have to go with Match Point and A History of Violence. Both are great movies and, to my mind, fit more with the Edgar than Crash or Syriana (which were also wonderful, but not really Edgar material -- am I wrong?). Unfortunately, I have yet to see The Ice Harvest.
