if i can do it, anybody can do it.
my website hadn't been updated in since 2005. i don't do websites, but i really wanted to find something similar to a blog that i could easily update myself. i'd heard of citymax, but knew it required Internet Explorer. Well, apparently it does work with Firefox. A bit glitchy, but it can be done. It's not the greatest looking website, but it's going to be so nice to be able to update whenever i need to. i'm not quite finished, and some weird things are going on that i haven't quite figured out, but i don't think it looks too bad. oh, and i want to say thanks to sandra and kevin of Spinetingler Magazine for the very nice jpeg i was able to use on the home page!!
my new website
citymax has a 10-day free trial, which is pretty handy. i would never have attempted a website without it.

Awesome job, Anne! The layout is great. The summary page of your titles is especially good. I like the really big and vivid covers.
The thought of doing webpages scares me. I don't know why.
kelly, yeah, it's such a relief. having such an outdated website was really bugging me. and it was always so hard not being in control of it myself. it's going to be so much easier to add a little at a time whenever i feel like it.
jason, citymax is kind of a cross between blogger and myspace as far as how it works. the only thing frustrating is not being able to get in and change the template code. i don't think that's possible without internet explorer.

I used to host my do-it-yourself site through Network Solutions, and then I switched to hosting with Yahoo. I don't think I could handle someone else updating my site.

heather: i got tired of continuously gathering info that wasn't put on my website. so frustrating. but i didn't want to learn how to do websites! ugh. it looks so hard! so i can't do much with the citymax template, but at least my info will all be in one place.

Yeah, it does look really good. I tried to sign your guest book though and the thing ate my witty comment (whatever it was, I'm sure it was witty) about 5 times so I gave up.
I tried so hard not to take it personally. No one else seemed to have that problem. Sniff.

jer, that's sweet of you to say. i have to admit that photo looks nothing like me though. :D it didn't look like me when it was taken, and now three years later, after i've aged 20 years, it really doesn't look like me. that reminds me -- i've been thinking of posting another photo that was taken the same day. it's hilarious. i might have to do that just for entertainment.
