I'm hearing a little bit of the Peer Gynt Suite in my head. Norway?

I have NO idea. haha!

My daughter just asked, "What is that ugly man??!"

Muppet purgatory?

anne frasier said...

taylor-- but trolls are so cuddly. :D

victor and mary -- Scandinavia -- yes. norway, no.

sandra: ;)

kelly -- haha! i hope she doesn't have nightmares.

heather -- i was shocked when i heard that the pope ?? decided purgatory doesn't exist. that sucks. i think if you have purgatory when you're a kid, you should have purgatory when you're an adult. muppet purgatory... he might go for that.

OMG! I want it!

Well, then it must be the land of Pipi Longstocking! Sweden? :)

alex: haha! you would say that!!

You lucky dawg, you! My parents brought me back a troll from Norway several years ago & I just love the creepy little guy. They were also nice enough to videotape their tour of the Edvard Munch museum - one of my all time fav painters. Have a blast & send us lots o' cyber-postcards!

I was going to say Amsterdam. Then, after reading your problems with the condo, I thought you might go live under a bridge where it may leak a little less (cue Nirvana...)

But I guess Scandinavia sounds pleasant. :)

g'luck!

at first i was thinking, 'a creepy version of disneyland?' (he looks like he has bulletholes!) then i thought, he looks like those troll-y things that are all over ballard! (our scandinavian neighborhood) there is a big troll sculpture under the I-5 bridge in seattle...he is holding a real volkswagon in one hand! anyway, how fun you get to go somewhere!

anne frasier said...

angie, i have a christmas troll that's about an inch tall. he's so cute!

jaye, i could picture you in a swedish forest.

emeraldcite: haha! you might have an idea there about the bridge. nice to see you posting again. i've missed you, but i know school is just around the corner!

cinderelly: i love that kind of art! that thing must be huge!

my daughter lived in sweden for a year and goes back about once a year. people visit us from sweden and finally, after almost 10 years have quit asking me when i'm coming over. i just never felt i could take the time off for such an adventure. but now i have no deadline, and when dirt-cheap lucky fares with iceland air came up we jumped on them. i expect this trip to cost me less than last fall's trip to iowa. we're going the end of august for nine days. renting a cottage on a lake and borrowing a friend's car. i've never been off the continent, so it will be a whole new experience for me.

You deserve a nice vacation. Have a safe and fun-filled trip.

OMG that sounds DIVINE. Bring back lots of wonderful photos, kay? I agree with Jeff--you SO deserve this.

OMG! You're going to NORWAY!? That's amazing!

And you mean it about doing a signing run out here in Phoenix? 'Cause if you do, I'm totally getting the ice maker fixed. And I'll be laying in a good supply of limes for the margaritas.

How exciting!! I'm sure you'll have a blast.

One bit of advice. If you happen to see this dude, politely walk the other way.

On the other hand, this man is a gentleman. I can vouch for him.

anne frasier said...

mary louisa, i'll do that!

mindy, i'd love to come out and visit you, angie, and your ice maker. i do believe that will happen someday, but i won't be going anywhere else this year once i get back from sweden. i'd planned to goof off all winter and maybe even make it to your area, but now there's a feeling that i should really get this memoir thingy written.

jason -- oh, i hope i don't run into him, although i do worry about getting a bloodclot in my leg so i guess i might see him. :O

and the second one -- LOL! i completely forgot about him. and that laugh track is hilarious.

Wow, you lucky dog! I'm heading that way next September on a cruise for my honeymoon (got married last month but we couldn't go this year :( ) I can't wait to hear about your trip and all the places to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery. You must blog all about it!

Oh, and that thing IS creepy. Does it have hair clinched in his hand??? That makes it even creepier.

anne frasier said...

trenting, or catch glimpses of him out of the corner of my eye, but when i turn around he's never there. :D

tanya! i haven't been reading blogs and i haven't been posting much. still keep thinking about pulling the plug on this thing, but i enjoy posting once or twice a week if nobody else minds.

bernita, i have no idea what you said, but i have the feeling it's not good. :D

tami, congratulations! i think waiting a year for a cruise is actually a cool idea. all the wedding crap is long over and you can really enjoy it.

i didn't notice the hair in his hand! haha! that's nasty!

Is it just me, or does that thing look like a demented version of Roddy MacDowell's disguise in Clockwork Orange when he does the 'Singin in the Rain' bit?
