Guess we'll have to go to Amsterdam and investigate.

Interesting they would pick Amstel though.

I wondered what had happened over at Jason Pinter's blog when all of the sudden that post disappeared but I thought maybe it was just a glitch with blogger.

It's hard to believe that something like that could happen... but here's hoping that he'll be on to bigger and better things soon. And the whole situation will turn out to be just one of those glitches life throws at you from time to time.

hulles, i printed out the email and have my plane ticket.

cinderelly, haha! apparently it's over 2 million. it's so nice to win something when i didn't even sign up for it!

susan, i've gotten really nervous about saying much of anything on my blog. i thought i was being paranoid. apparently not.

I can see I have much to learn about the publishing business.

As far as the email you recieved from Amstel Pilsener Beer goes, my first impression was:

S-tep
C-arefully
A-round
M-anure

I think I missed something good--again! =D

Mmm...Amstel. You'd think they'd know how to spell "pilsner," though. If you're going to send out a scam e-mail, at least use spell check.

What a coincidence. I won the UK national lottery yesterday! Also they asked for to confirm was my name, address, phone number, social security number and my bra size.

Pinter won't be out of work for long. He won't be the one whose rep is hurt by this, I'm betting. BTW, it took me way too long to realize you linked to the story. I was madly googling for a bit. oh

Oh my word. Apparently I'm drunk typing agan.

Maybe they saw your post about your health-insurance woes?

jeff, don't burst my bubble! :D

kelly, you can' always catch up!

patrick, i didn't notice that! i usually scan these things for funny spelling errors. i missed that one.

jaye, so sorry about the crummy link. i noticed it was jammed up there at the top and thought nobody's going to even know it's a link. and i have to admit i was briefly paranoid about saying anything about it on my blog. isn't that crazy???? i kept trying to figure out some neutral wording and it made my brain hurt.

i did read jason's deleted post and it proves that you don't have to say much to have it come back and bite you in the ass. his comments were completely neutral -- just an interesting and not at all surprising observation.

drunk typing is good.

christa: haha! i'll bet that's it!

I won that too. Plus one in Luxembourg. Road trip!

Hulles said...

Somebody say "road trip?" Woohoo! Let's go! Party! (passes out again, starts snoring loudly with drool coming out of the side of his mouth)

anne frasier said...

bill, we'll be able to get our own private jet!

hulles, if you're in that shape i'll just keep circling the Super Target parking lot. You won't even know we didn't really leave town.

Alex Adams said...

That would be way more impressive it it was 1,500,000 of Amstel beer. :D
(It would be party-time at Anne's house, then)

As for Pinter, it's just ridiculous when people aren't even allowed to make unbiased observations.

Alex Adams said...

Bottles, damn it, bottles. :D

anne frasier said...

alex, i knew what you meant! and i'd had the same thought about the bottles. :D

yeah, what happened to jason is pretty scary. and something i keep coming back to ever since i started blogging: what's the point of blogging if you have to watch everything you say?

Wow! I just won the very same prize, even from the same Mr. Hendrik Klaas! What an amazing coincidence!
I'd go to Amsterdam, but my passport's expired, and it'll take too long to renew.
Tell you what. Why don't you go to Amsterdam and pick up my prize while you're there. I'll give you $500.00 for your trouble, just send me your bank's routing number and your account number so I can deposit the money.
TIA for your help.

Chug-a-lug,

Rick
