i love to shop. not for shoes and purses, but for things like this:
formaldehyde generator
these were used in sickrooms to combat scarlet fever, whooping cough, malaria, yellow fever. they emitted formaldehyde gas.

I find old medical devices spooky, I'm not sure why. Have you ever seen the old Crookes tubes and fluoroscopes? If you look up "X-ray martyrs" on the internet, that's a sad story!
jason, i looked that up. very interesting. thanks! i remember when shoe stores had x-ray machines. i never saw one -- because they were only at the really expensive stores -- but i remember kids talking about how much fun they were! also reminded me of reading a biography of madame curie. wow.
Anne Frasier, USA Today bestselling author of Hush, Sleep Tight, Play Dead, Pale Immortal, and Garden of Darkness, has been recognized with numerous awards including the RITA and Daphne
du Maurier for romantic suspense. Publishers Weekly says Frasier "has perfected the art of making a reader's skin crawl." The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls her a "master." She divides her time between Minnesota and Wisconsin.
