quit messin' with my head

back in june my dehumidifier was dying so i put it in the alley next to the trash can hoping it would be picked up. trash collection and recyling wasn't for several days, but the next morning the dehumidifier was gone.

Today I step into the alley and what do i see? the damn dehumidifier right where i left it FIVE FREAKIN' MONTHS AGO.

WTF?? Did someone actually take it, realize it was broken and return it to the SAME EXACT SPOT 5 months later? That's insane. It must have been a neighbor if it's back where it started. Aww, poor dehumidifier, no one's showing any love for it!

haha! tami, that's what i'm thinking. it had to be a neighbor. but which one..... which one.....

it worked a little bit, but it would freeze, then thaw out all over the floor. they probably used it through the summer.

i just hope the dehumidfier was abused.

WASN'T abused. WASN'T!!!!

That is so weird. I've never heard of anything like this happening before.

1. Don't touch it, you don't know where that thing has been! lol

2. Somebody owes you rent, Anne!

You're being haunted by your dehumidifier. Forlorn and abandoned, it's come back... FOR VENGEANCE!!!

Every day it will move a few inches closer, creeping its way along the gravel path, dragging it's abused and broken body further, further to its ultimate goal of REVENGE!

someone's messing with you, girl.

jeff, call CSI. they might be able to get some fiber samples from it.

stephen, there is something sweetly sinister about it. i'll let you know if it moves closer during the night.

i think i've mentioned that my tv quit working. it sat in the alley for a week until i found out i had to take it to a drop-off site. one day i saw a new guy on the block scurrying away like a rat. i could tell he'd been looking at the TV. I just though too bad he didn't drag it home. but then i noticed the cord had been cut off. this guy lives in a really expensive house.

i have a few suspects for the dehumidfier incident.

patti, it took my brain a few minutes to completely process the return of the damn thing. :D

i kept looking at it thinking it couldn't really be there.

The cord to the TV was missing? What would anyone want with that?? You sure have WEIRD neighbors Anne!

tami, he probably used it to tie up the dehumidifier. :D

This is one of those moments that in the years hence you will surely cherish. Now we just need to imagine the adventures of the dehumidifier. What did it do? Where did it go? And why did it choose to return now? What secrets did it plumb during its long journeys?

It boggles the mind to contemplate it!

It's stalking you. I'd get back out there with a sledgehammer if you can't get a restraining order.

I think it's been traveling the world with one of those garden gnomes.

But as other have warned, beware the dehumidifier. Its ultimate goal is to suck you dry!

bill, i'm waiting for some magic light so i can get some photos of the dehumidifier. i'm sure they'll be poignant.

sandra, i looked outside this morning to make sure it hadn't inched its way up the sidewalk. :D

jaye, LOL! yes, the gnomes! LOL!

it's also a little like the 2001 space odyssey monolith that sometimes appears places.
but much more romantic since it's a dehumidfier.

you could try taping that $5 bill to it, but i'm afraid the next morning you might find it replaced with a note saying that it's going to take more than five to make it disappear again!

i think that's kinda ransom in reverse!
