blurbage

I'm collecting blurbs for Pale Immortal. At this time these will only appear on my website - - although it's possible my publisher might use some next time around when the sequel comes out. If you read an ARC and are interested, just email the blurb along with a line or two of promotional info about yourself. If you haven't had a chance to read the ARC, no big deal. I'll be making updates to blurbs and reviews before the book comes out in September.

if you're busy, you might choose from any of the following:

A) So scary I wet my pants!
B) Didn't suck as much as I thought it would!
C) Laugh-out-loud funny!
D) Creamiest, dreamiest!
E) That's some messed up shit!
F) I thought the main character would turn out to be Kenny Rogers. When that didn't happen I tossed the book against the wall!
G) I drove all the way from Florida to Wisconsin just to visit Tuonela. I couldn't find it and I'm pissed off!

oh for fuck's sake! WHY do people do shit like this? Make an appeal...

And if Pale Immortal is really scary enough to make people wet their pants, maybe you could come up with a marketing strategy involving a free pair of Depends with every purchase. Make ol' Konrath proud. (Always wondered about the name of that product...does it work? Well, it Depends.)

Anne--

I do have it finished (thanks again)and I'll let you know when I post the web review. I hadn't thought about a blurb, though...hmmm....

stay-c: i ended up sending out 30 ARCs over a period of two weeks and i lost track of everybody who received one! i should have kept track, but i didn't, which is why i posted this on my blog. probably seems strange, but i thought it wouldn't be as likely to put people on the spot -- but maybe i accomplished just the opposite!

i don't want anybody to feel pressured to do it. really.

angie: i'm going to delete that first comment, then everybody will wonder what in the hell you're talking about. :D

Oh oh! Can I change mine to this one???

I drove all the way from Florida to Wisconsin just to visit Tuonela. I couldn't find it and I'm pissed off!

I see how you are! And I'm not the one who made that jackassed comment! As it is, it kind of sounds like I'm giving you a hard time about the blurbage. Oh well, such is life...

sorry, angie!! i probably should have left up the spam, but it was massive!!

Damn, so you're the one that provided all those excuses to people!

You know Anne, I might just be able to sneak that in this next week, and for only a modest fee.

Dumb Q, please don't mind me:

ARC= Advanced _______ Copy?

anne frasier said...

sandra: how about some peeps? but i'll bet they have peeps in canada.

flood: welcome. :)

reading...

advance READING copy -- i think. i used to think it was review or reviewer's or reader's, but i'm fairly sure it's reading.

You deleted spam? And I missed it? See what happens when a take a couple of days off from blogging.

I haven't read the ARC yet (and yes, reading) as I had other books to review that were coming out before that, but I think I'm almost caught up, so should start on it next week. And Kenny Rogers isn't the main character? Aw shit - what a let-down. *gg*

sorry about the spam, eve.

and don't worry about the book. i just wanted people to know the burb box was open for business in case anybody's interested. it'll probably be a while before i put anything up. just collecting right now.

sorry about kenny.

years ago my husband's grandmother insisted that the main character in my first book was kenny rogers, her favorite singer. even when i told her he wasn't kenny she refused to believe me. :D

emeraldcite said...

lol@kenny rogers. my mom and grandma love him.

I'll go with G because I actually live in Florida. I also like road trips.

It is reading. Says so on my arc of Field of Darkness, anyway.

"sandra: how about some peeps? but i'll bet they have peeps in canada."

If you follow DL, you'll know I don't know my Canada from the US or my east from west. Likely, not my up from down either.

anne frasier said...

emeraldcite: i'll put you down for G. :D

sandra; no, i don't get DL anymore. used to years ago. sorry about the geography problem.

Sandra Ruttan said...

Well Anne, I know where Minnesota is! So that counts for something, right?

anne frasier said...

sandra, that's all you need to know. ;)
