hahahaha Why am I getting the feeling this thing is somehow upside down? Somekind of machine...

I can't wait to read everyone's responses because I have no idea. Hmmm. How about a heart with wings? hahaha =D

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that it's the car for an amusement park ride. That or a... no, no I don't think I'm gonna go there. Never mind.

Duh, it's a pink flamingo egg. They're extra large because it takes quite a volume of special proteins to generate that particular color on the baby bird.

You should see it when the mother is laying the egg. Who knew something so small could birth something so big? Amazing!

(Yeah, I'm thinking amusement park ride, too.)

A large model of a uterus including both ovaries and fallopian tubes.

I'm with jeff on this one. It's part of the new Planned Parenthood Adventureland ride at Euro-Disney.

I think its a car for an amusement park ride that's shaped like a uterus - they keep it at the back of the park in the cesarean section. *gg*

Well what do you expect after only one cup of coffee?

A sculpture of a pink swan with the head, tail feathers, and legs removed. Either that or a weather balloon (doesn't the gov't call anything unexplained a weather balloon?)
Is that there a cow in the background?

Bill Cameron said...

I'm stumped, but my first thought was a car for some kind of carnival ride. Now I'm leaning toward the uterus concept though. The cow in the background only adds to the confusion though. And is that some kind of trap door there in the top? Which may be the bottom? What pops out of that!?

angie said...

WTF?! This wouldn't bother me except for the hole/trap door in the top/bottom/whatever. I have no idea, but am willing to guess...pink flamingo?

anne frasier said...

wow. i completely forgot i put this up last night. haha!
no, i wasn't drunk.

okay, nobody has hit upon the complete answer, so i'll let this roll a little longer before i start giving hints or telling you who has what right.

Hmm, some kind of decompression or sensory-deprivation contraption that recaptures the womb?

Sandra Ruttan said...

Jeff took mine, and it's still wrong?

Uh Uh... I have no idea!

anne frasier said...

"a uterus including both ovaries and fallopian tubes"

that is correct, but it's only part of the mystery. unfortunately it isn't a planned parenthood ride, which would be pretty cool. :D

"I get the uterus!"
"you had the uterus last time!"

emeraldcite said...

i think it's a cross between jeff and jamie's posts.

Maybe a cow birthing process model? Maybe a training uterus for seminating cows?

anne frasier said...

flood and emeraldcite: good guesses, but incorrect. ;)

hehe! this is fun.

I'm with Jeff (only because he's right). I think the uterus et al. will be used to clone those of us who are beautiful, intelligent, charming, and kind.

Mindy Tarquini said...

Looks like a headdress for a superhero.

anne frasier said...

jer: LOL! the cloning machine! hah!

mg: it does look like a headdress!

anne frasier said...

should we play 20 questions?

Tami Klockau said...

Ok, i haven't guessed yet. No clue, but I did notice the cow behind it (can't tell, is that a ceramic cow?)

anne frasier said...

tami, i never even noticed the cow until people mentioned it. :D

one hint: i did not take this photo. i never personally met this uterus.

anne frasier said...

another hint: you can get inside it.

Sandra Ruttan said...

It's an octopus' uterus?

anne frasier said...

okay, now the beatles song is going through my head. :D

angie said...

Rebirthing chamber?

Anonymous said...

omigod, does it make you feel like a baby!!??? lolololol Like some kind of simulator? This is too funny. I can't wait to find out. =D

anne frasier said...

hahaha! oh, that's SO FUNNY!!

after so many great guesses, this can only be anticlimactic once the truth is told.

anne frasier said...

i'm still hoping somebody will guess it.

emeraldcite said...

It's the Femi-Enterprise.

To boldly go where no uterus has gone before.

emeraldcite said...

Is it a Halloween Costume? Ursula the Uterus.

People will give you lots of candy just to get the hell away.

anne frasier said...

emeraldcite, i loved both of those. :D

"To boldly go where no uterus has gone before."

it kind of reminds me of the pod they put spock in. i can't remember what those were called.

o i think we're ready for the reveal. i'm afraid it will be a letdown after all this funny stuff!

anne frasier said...

drum roll:

it's a uterus coffin

Flood said...

For cow uterii?

'Cause I googled 'cow uterus' and now I wanna scoop my eyes out with a spoon.

anne frasier said...

flood: LOL!!

anne frasier said...

fantasy coffins:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/4215923.stm

this was one of those things that i stumbled upon while looking for something else.

angie said...

See, I was close! Rebirthing chamber/fantasy coffin, same-same, right? Right?!!

Anonymous said...

angie, if you believe in reincarnation that could work...

:D

emeraldcite said...

That's so wrong. Even worse than a cow uterus.

Does that mean that there's a bovine coffin in the background?

I was thinking maybe this was a prop for the Mork & Mindy sequel.

Hope someone ordered this one up front because I don't think it'll sell through the catalogue.

emeraldcite said...

Now that I've thought about it, it is a nice representation. You come from there you return to there kind of thing. Quite circular.

But no less weird.

Anonymous said...

emeraldcite: yes, i think that is a bovine coffin. :D

the uterus coffin is certain intriguing. it seems a shame to bury it. it almost looks like something that should be shot out of a cannon. i'll bet it would float.

Anonymous said...

i've always wanted to be cremated, but the uterus coffin is almost enough to change my mind. can you imagine shipping that to the States?

bekbek said...

I don't know if I like the idea of rotting inside a uterus.

But there, that's me, half is always glass empty and all.

Bill Cameron said...

I have long told my family that, when I die, they should take me out into the woods and bury my naked carcass in a drift of leaves. But since certain people in authority frown on such notions and insist on things like coffins and legal burials, I guess a giant uterus is acceptable. Or a big cow. Or since I live in the Pacific northwest, a giant banana slug coffin.

anne frasier said...

bekbek, that's a good point. if i were to do something like request a coffin uterus, it would be strictly for the chuckles factor.

bill, i find the idea of embalming revolting and weird as hell, but i recently read about natural burial taking place somewhere in i think new york state. i believe they just put the body in the ground.

Daniel Hatadi said...

I still don't think it's a coffin: it HAS to be a sex machine.

As James Brown would say, "fellas, can I scream?"

anne frasier said...

daniel, i just got a flash of the slim pickens bomb-riding scene from dr. strangelove.

but i think maybe you're talking about the vagina coffin.

:D
