i need to tell you something

three things:

1. blogging is like hanging out in a bar all day. why didn't i realize that until now? no wonder it's addictive. at one point in my life i tended bar and i sometimes fantasize about going back to that job.

2. the uterus coffin generated a record number of comments. but oddly enough the heavy, broken writer post generated a large number of comments too. that tells me a diverse bunch of people visit here. i love that. group hug.

3. a very short chapter one of Pale Immortal has been posted here:

pale immortal blog

you have to scroll down a little to find the chapter images, then be sure to double-click to enlarge them all the way.

If blogs are bars, I'm an alcoholic.

Okay, I went over to read the first chapter. Now where the hell is the rest of the book?

Wonderful writing, Anne.

devon, it's very much a community, and we always welcome new people. :) thanks for stopping by.

rob: LOL! me too! a raging alcoholic. thanks for the kind words about PI. I can't wait until Kiss Her Goodbye comes out. really looking forward to that release.

Please, sir, may I have some more?

(Spoken in my best Oliver Twist accent.)

jer: LOL!

So, you're saying this is like the virtual equivalent of Cheers? Good god, who does that make me? I hope it's not Norm.

Hey, Jer, that's a great photo. I like it.

anne frasier said...

stephen, i'm not touching that. :D

rob, i agree about jer's photo. and i really like the one she has on myspace. i think it must have been taken when she was doing a comedy routine.

Where's page two?

anne frasier said...

mindy, it should be there. or do you mean chapter two? ;) the blog seems to be doing some weird things. i might have to remove youtube for now.

Um, more? Now?! Dammit, I HATE waiting for stuff. Really liked the chapter - enough to leave me wanting MORE! And Stephen gets a cybersmack for likening our bar, er blog community to Cheers. As if.

Great chapter Anne! This makes me even more excited for the release. I'm definitely running out and picking up a copy on September 5th! I've got it marked!

I used to not understand blogs, now i'm an addict. Have any of your watched the show Intervention on Bravo (or is it on A&E..one of those.) They should have one about people addicted to blogging! I need a blogging intervention!

Hello, my name is Jeff, and I'm a blogging addict.

I made the foolish mistake of thinking I could visit just this one blog and then get right back to my writing.
The next thing I know I'm totally off the wagon! I've been to ten blogs in the past five minutes!

Okay, I can wait a month for the rest. But only barely and only because I'm going to be tied up a lot in August and unable to get much reading done!

anne frasier said...

angie: were you imagining maybe a bar where debbie harry would be working? :D

tami: thanks! no, i haven't seen that show -- mainly because i'm addicted to blogging! :D :D :D i cancelled my cable, then my tv quit working and i didn't bother to get a new one. (have a tiny one in the bedroom) but it's all because of blogging! so yes, they should do a show on blog addiction!

jeff, that's how it is. You always think it will just be one... and are you lying to yourself and your family? that's another sign. ;)

bill, thanks. yeah, i'm hoping to have a first draft done by the end of august, but with all this blogging i'm not sure i'll be able to squeeze it in.

Anne, a good bar is a reflection of its host, and you are doing a fine job.

But I can't read that chapter yet: the rest of the Pale Immortal blog has me too scared.

Must hide my fear by pretending to do work...

Mindy Tarquini said...

Found page 2! It was hiding, directly beneath page 1, followed quickly by pages 3, 4 an 5. Tricky, tricky Anne.

As to the chapter - really nice.

Who answers the door?

anne frasier said...

daniel, what a nice thing to say! maybe that bartending job was really preparing me for blogging. :D

sorry the other blog frightened you. wait a dern minute -- it was supposed to do that!

anne frasier said...

mindy, i'm sneaky as hell. :D :D

the door is answered by a pop culture icon. possibly named kenny.

that will only be funny to a few people. i apologize for that.

angie said...

Debbie Harry is much more my style than that fluffy headed guy on Cheers.

Bill Cameron said...

After he answers the door, do they kill him? Those bastards.

Anonymous said...

angie, you seem angry. ;)

bill, yes, those bastards! :D

Stephen Blackmoore said...

Aha! I have found Angie's weakness! I promise only to use this newfound power for good. Well, mostly.

Maybe.

Missed the group hug, dammit! =D

I noticed you thought Jason and I were blogging pros last year, well you're one too! I enjoy visiting you each day. You're a great person to know. Even though I've read PI, I still can't wait to get my copy fresh from a book shelf. =D

anne frasier said...

stephen, that kind of information could definitely come in handy in the future. like tomorrow.

kel, hey the group hug is an ongoing thing!
and thanks so much for the kind words about PI. i think you were the first person to read it after my agent and editors.

Jude said...

I read the start of your book. It was really good. I enjoyed it.

anne frasier said...

thanks, jude!

i've edited it a bit since then, but hopefully people will overlook the repeated words. i have trouble with that.

Jude said...

I didn't even notice them.
