friends and family

do friends and family read your blog?
most of mine don't, or at least i don't think they do. i can understand if we're talking about somebody you see every day. i wouldn't expect my kids to read my blog, but what about people in other parts of the country that you don't talk to very often? seems like a good way to keep updated, but most relatives and friends act as if the idea of going to my blog is weird. i shouldn't say that. most don't even acknowledge that i mentioned it. :D

I would hope that no family reads my blog besides the hubby.

I think a couple of my family members read every so often. They've mentioned it a couple of times, and I make my blog very public. But then, most don't even ask me about my writing, or visit my website because they don't spend a lot time on the computer, or just aren't interested in books.

My wife does, and just recently, my sister-in-law and neice.

Generally, though, I have to agree with your experience, Anne. Most people I know don't seem to be interested in becoming regular readers. But then, most people don't read regularly. Only regular readers read regularly. (Sorry.... I'm feeling palindromic today).

Anne,
Most of the family I have living out of state would probably say, "Just read it to me, or tell me what it's about." Who wants to do that? It takes something away from it.
I do think my daughter, who is away at college looks at mine from time to time but never leaves a written comment.

i think for some there is the idea that the blogger is a public persona -- not the person a family member might know. but with me, i don't think there's a big difference between the blog persona and my real self. i do use more restraint here than i would in real life, but it's not extreme. i don't cuss as much here. :D

My sister reads and posts to mine. She hasn't embarrassed me yet.
