i love the apple store computer geniuses

they call them geniuses instead of computer geeks. i'm not sure genius is any better than geek. the poor guys wear T-shirts with the word genius on the chest. it almost seems as if they are being mocked. i'd really like to see the list of words apple marketing department came up with when they were trying to think of a substitute for geek.

guru. i'll bet that was on the list.

when my son was little, a neighbor kid who didn't speak much english used to call him mr. impossible because neil could fix anything. maybe that would be a better name than genius. but ANYWAY, my computer is back home and repaired in 24 hours. i can't believe it. yesterday they told me they would have to send it to texas, but apparently someone decided to install a new hard drive at the apple store. i didn't play the writer card, or the bitch card -- which i was advised to do by a few people. i never tell people what i do for a living. they just think i'm the lady with the hairy laptop. you should have seen all the cat hair that showed up under those intense lights. grooossssss!!! :D

I always go with the polite, I know that customers suck and are a pain in the arse, attitude rather than complainy.

For some people, playing the bitch card really works, but I find that letting someone know that I understand their pain really can work wonders. Not always, but that human connection can really work.

Glad to see you back!

So, will the next novel involve a were-apple?

Anne, you're back!! What's so funny is when the people who you usually blog with take a break, it's a drag when they are gone. *laughs*

Glad your apple is fixed and back in action. =)

thanks, kelly!
i was so bored, i actually broke down and cleaned my house! ick!

it is strange when a regular poster is absent. it upsets everything! i miss allen. he just vanished, but i hope he returns at some point and i hope everything is okay with that guy.

Oh yeah, glad to know your computer is well. Hell, you took what, 2 days off from your blog? I take weeks at a time :-D

AWWWW!!! Iw as missed. I LOVE that. I was gone, but now i'm back. I ended up changing over to typepad and taking ALL personal info off of my blog there so my little Internet stalker couldnt find my blog. :)

Anne, I just KNEW there was that something "special" about you. I knew you were a thinker, a person who thought outside of the box...one of the COOL people who use a Mac. I have three Mac's at home. A G5 iMac, a G5 Powermac, and an iBook. I want a Powerbook SOON.

nice to have you back, allen!

my daughter just sold a powerbook she'd had three years. they really retain their value. kinda like hondas.

i have an ibook. my first mac. it can be frustrating at times because of some of the incompatibility problems, but i still love it. in fact, it's not compatible with this template, so i have trouble posting anything that arrives in an email. i can't type something up in word, then post it here without having to go back in and retype. i could get rid of my template, but i don't want to do that!

That is just plain weird. What browser are you using? Safari sometimes has trouble with templates. Try using Internet Exploder (YUCK...now I need to wash my keyboard for typing that). There is also Firefox (www.getfirefox.com) that takes away most compatibility problems that Safari Has. My suggestion would be Firefox. It is a GREAT browser!

Let me know if I can help you. You can email me if you want and I can try to help you out.

I love my mac. I actually have graphic design experience so I learned my design programs on macs. I still have my old trusty imac. It's outdated as well as the programs, but I can't really afford to upgrade. My pour ibook crashed and burned last year. =(

allen, i think it's because the template was designed on a pc. :(

kelly, ibooks have gone down in price.... so maybe when you get that advance.... :)

Damned PeeCee's. They are good for one thing...to drill a hole through it, pull a nice heavy chain through that hole, and use it for a boat anchor. I hate PeeCee's.
