and the winner is...

JOANNE KIGGINS!! from WRITING AFTER DARK! woo-hoo!!!

a second drawing--

MARY LOUISA!! from YES I DO MIND!

gals, email me your addresses and i'll get the DVDs and CDs in the mail.

(annefrasier@comcast.net)

for those of you who didn't win, i'm thinking about keeping the names and having a DVD drawing every monday. new names can always be added. i'm also open to drawing ideas and suggestions!

oh, and the winning location?

i found this interesting and funny. i know several people who live in Savannah and near Savannah, so i deliberately didn't tell them about the contest. Bek from Georgia dropped in, but she surprised me by voting for Tampa.

top location: SAVANNAH

second: TAMPA

Wow, sounds like a great place, Savannah! So this may happen in the summer, right? Or was that winter? Ugh, I don't remember! ;D

Savannah is beautiful. Almost got a job near there. A small town named Jesup. Kinda glad didn't end up working there. Northern boy like me in an old papermill southern town...yeah.

Can't skip a rock without hitting a church. No thanks...

I've been to Savannah several times. It's a nice town with a lot of history.
Congratulations to Joanne and Mary Louisa! :)

kelly, the moving truck is pulling up as we speak!

winter. i would go in the winter. :D summer in savannah can be pretty nasty.

emeraldcite: oooh, the papermill. yes. that place is nasty! i've heard emissions used to eat paint right off cars. people swear that's true.

but it is beautiful -- i agree, jeff. i have a love/hate thing going with savannah. you have this absolutely beautiful and amazing place, but along with it comes high crime, racial hostility, homelessness -- and that damn papermill!!

mary l: the drawing was fun! congratulations!

tribe -- dammit!! i completely forgot to list detroit in the results. damn damn. i'd toyed with the idea of putting it as number 1 and leaving it up for a least a few hours. :D

sorry to say it didn't have a single vote. :(

tanya, that is funny as hell. :D i love it.

Anne, I'm not making a pass at you... okay, maybe I am, but either way, I reserve the right to take you to your first Savannah Sand Gnats game. Single A baseball in a tiny, ancient brick ballpark, an experience as American as, well, baseball.

If you haven't read The Book you must do so before you move.

mark, i always hear people talking about sand gnat games. nobody mentioned the brick ballpark!
and yes, i read the book. loved it. i'm also a big fan of the movie even though a lot of people didn't like it. so what if it was slow and meandering. that's what i liked about it.

i just remembered my avatar is from bonaventure cemetery.
