2 1/2 out of 5 stars

woody paints by number:
i've seen this movie before. about 20 times.
Fifteen minutes in, i realized this was a rehash of a plot that's been extremely popular over the past seven or eight years. but i at least expected woody allen to add something new to a tired, unoriginal plot.

nope.

a lot of people loved this movie. maybe those people haven't seen the other 20 versions of it. i do find it extremely interesting that the theme of infidelity and retribution is so pervasive in movies now.

5 out of 5 stars
loved it. maybe i should stick to watching documentaries...

I've been meaning to watch this documentary but haven't gotten around to it. TVZ wrote some great tunes. A real traveling troubadour.
Pancho & Lefty and Waitin Round To Die are two of my favorites.
I have a couple of albums by Jerry Jeff Walker and Doc Watson that have songs by TVZ on them. :)

Won't watch Woody Allen, so missed this movie. Guess I ought to be happy about that one.

I don't get to watch a lot of movies actually - will try to play catch-up this summer.

For a minute there I thought the movie was called Woody Paints By Number! And I thought, oh, Anne's really getting out there in terms of weird movie choices. And then, duh, I saw the cover. Won't be watching as, like Eve, don't watch Woody. Going to be in a quandary though -- I understand Hugh Jackman is in one of his new films. How can I resist?

eve, not sure if you don't watch him because of his personal history or just his movies. he can be hit and miss. i loved sweet and lowdown. sleeper is hilarious, but begins to drag in the second half. still some great visual humor!

anne: i wanted to call it woody pulls a plot out of his butt, but i thought that would be totally inappropriate for my highbrow blog. hehe i didn't know about the hugh jackman movie. interesting....

Personal - it's a thing with me. But how can I resist Hugh Jackman! It'll be hard to do.
