Mere miles from here
Others march to stop the war
Yet I do this
Beneath dark colors
Claw for release, breath the air
Flying free with words
Despite all efforts
Hypnosis and therapy
A freak, I remain
An empty place calls,
A sheet of clean white paper
It begs for color
thanks so much for the lovely contributions!!
Oooh, what a cool idea! I like reading these... wicked!
Okay, here's mine:
Bugger off, people!
I won't tell your stories. No!...
Fine. Where is that pen?
It's revision time;
A keyboard of fucking doom
Under my fingers.
Oh, Pardon my French!
I'm mainly Julie Andrews
in a Joan Jett world.
unfunny secrets
fate is a mother fucker
laugh at my expense
brooding in silence
the dark is afraid of me
because I am it
after many years
learning to play the guitar
i just want to write
these are all wonderful! thank you so much! funny, touching, honest, painful, spooky.
My hands became raw from clapping.
I still do math on my fingers, too. ;)
My pen is broken
Where is an alternative
A computer wins
my favorites are heather harper's and emeraldcite's so far. i personally am holding out for limericks. great idea, anne.
thanks, hulles. I'm a big fan of haiku.
I don't do haiku
But I will dye my hair blue
And ride a scooter.
See, there's a reason I don't do haiku!
:o)
Oh, Angie, I love that! :-) That little rhyme is perfect. *G*
From birth, too often
I've asked how hard can it be?
With surprise, I learn.
I've got nothin. But I have to say these are incredible poems! When I finally do come up with a good one, Anne, I'll post mine, too.
jer, so nice to see you!!
and mary louisa!
so many wonderful contributions. i have to admit i laughed the hardest at jaye's. a freak i remain. love that.
Thanks, man. Glad to know my freakish nature is provide chuckles for others.
Here, light this. Go 'head.
You're supposed to duck, stupid.
Eh, who needs eyebrows?
Once when the sun set
I watched until it was gone
I'm still there waiting
Oh Stephen, you just made my day!
:o)
jason, that's so you.
stephen and angie:
noir haiku. heh.
another good idea -- a stocking stuffer book of noir haiku. i think this is doable for christmas 2006.
er, 2007.
Remember the noir haiku project of 2007? You know, that's when Anne Frasier launched her Editor in Chief career.
????
hah! so you agree it could be a cool project? i might have to think about this a little more. i know some people who've worked with some of the local small presses on small projects like that. hmmmm....
