book signing saturday

I'll be doing a booksigning saturday 1:00 - 3:00 at once upon a crime in minneapolis.

people who don't live nearby have asked about getting a signed copy of Pale Immortal.
if you'd like a signed book but can't make it in or don't live in the area, just give pat or gary a call and reserve a personalized, signed copy. for an extra two bucks they'll even mail it to you.

phone: 612 870-3785

once upon a crime

my signing in burlington, iowa, went very well. saw a lot of old friends and visited with people i hadn't seen in a long time. a blogging buddy showed up, which was a HUGE surprise. can anybody guess who it was?

i think the USA Today list is posted every Thursday. If PI doesn't make it this week it probably won't. Even with the wonderful and amazing pimp squad, I'll really be surprised if it manages to make it without in-house buzz. I'm just not sure that's possible.

Good luck on the USA Today rankings and the book signing. I started PI last night, it's great so far.

I don't know...JA? =D

Glad the signings are going well!!

It might just happen on the USA Today list, you never know!! I'm rooting for you!!

Here's hoping that PI makes it on the list.

I was at WalMart last night and just out of curiosity decided to check for your book... it was there, face out and four deep in the new releases section. Don't know how much being in WalMart helps an author's numbers, but I suppose the more places your book is sold the better.

jaye, jason, kel: thanks! i checked my ingram figures today and there's no way PI can make the USA Today list. :( i'll post more on ingram's automated system later. i don't know that much about it, and would like more information.

hi susan! sales are sales and i suspect walmart is a big part of the market. that's great to hear PI is face out in the new release section!

Konrath is talking about Ingram today, too. http://jakonrath.blogspot.com

Just to let you know I *loved* PALE IMMORTAL (I love all of your books, but this was my favorite one so far), and I really look forward to the sequels! Good luck with it! I'm a bookseller and will be recommending it to customers.

jaye: thanks so much! i was really depressed this morning after calling the ingram number. In a little over a week, PI sold 380 copies. i thought that seemed horribly dismal until i visited joe's blog. now it seems fairly decent. (i read over his figures very quickly. need to do it again.) ingram is said to account for roughly 5% of total sales.

karen, as i said in the above comment, i was feeling pretty low this-morning, but things don't seem nearly as dark now. thanks so much!

mai wen: thanks so much! i saw on your blog that you used to live here! it was your drunkest city post. i'm not at all surprised minneapolis came in second. :D
