My post is up on my blog. I don't know how to do the hyperlink thing here in comments, but you can get there by clicking on my name.
Congratulations Anne! Here's to selling lots of books today and in the days to come!
I didn't sign up for this ahead of time, but I did it anyways. My post is up as well. Congratulations Anne! I am looking forward to reading this though it will have to wait a few days for me to finish with 'play dead'.

somewhere Jeff foxworthy is getting this same one, burping as loud as he can, scratching his head and wondering why doing so didn't get his comment verified.

I am now part of the party too. Good luck on good sales!
Anne, I have blogged your book. No drinking for me today--driving the kids to run errands and all-- and precious little time to blog crawl until this evening, but will later try to catch up to everyone else, or at least have some fun gawking at the passed out revelers.
And ditto my applause at finding the Smith's ref as I sipped my first caffeine. Them's was the days...
Free jello shots and karaoke at Jaye's Blahg. Things are already crazy over there. Leave your keys and dignity at the door.
I'm pimping at The Writing Life!
I may not be the first one to the party, but dammit, I'm the last to leave.
Check it out here.
I'm posting away too. But I'll take a martini, please. Too many jello shots during college.

I can't make up my mind. Martini? Jello shot? What the hell -- one of each! I'm just exited about the party!
Tequila shots and free sombreros over at Jason's Hotter than a Habenero Party! You rock Anne!!
I pimped! I pimped! Here's mine. :D
Too early in the morning for jello shots for me. Mimosas anyone!
Glad the day is finally here for you, Anne. I'll be running out soon to buy the book!
Catch the grave.

I pimped too. Am having trouble getting the link to work, so here it is: jerilyndufresne.com/weblog/daily.html. And will also pimp later today on my MySpace comedian page.
Such a lovely, lovely title, Anne.
I made mention on my blog in thanks.
I'm pimping too!
Count me in!
whew. *pant, pant*
i just made my first round. no drinking yet. better hold off on that until later. lots of cool posts and laughs.
Okay, two more blogs added. Can't wait to see what the blog count is by the end of the day! =D

I'd be happy to pimp on my blog!
wow, kelly!! thanks so much! i'm beginning to think i might come close to my goal of 100. but i have no solid way of keeping track, although i'm going to try. i know emeraldcite suggested the trackback thing, but gave up trying to figure it out! (although i had it figured out two months ago!) that still wouldn't have caught everybody.
elizabeth -- i love new pimps! :D
Here's the link to my blog post!

Blogger is really pissing me off - won't let me post comments until the 4th or 5th try. I think you're crashing blogger, Anne!!!
I'm a pimper! (Wouldn't you like to be a pimper, too?)
And got up a better cover gif of your book, Anne. Nice and BIG. Check it out at Dusted (but only if my html works; not sure how to do this in comments.)

Hi Anne. I picked up your book last night at the Barnes & Noble (or B. Dalton, I forget which one) at MOA last night. I got about 90 pages in while my daughter did some last minute school clothes shopping. Great character developments so far. I find myself interested in the futures of many of the characters - Graham, Evan, Rachel, as well as some of the lesser characters. Although I'm not really into horror-fantasy (I don't really believe in vampires), I find the read realistic, and intriguing so far. You have a teenage son, right? Was he any assistance in writing from Graham's perspective? I'm just wondering because you make him seem so real.
Good Job!
Myron
I have answered the call to pimp on both of my blogs.

May this party be a huge success...
arggghhh!
blogger!!
damn you, blogger!!
waldo: what? gasp. choke. soon you'll be telling us you don't believe in the easter bunny! ;) thanks for the kind words about the characters in PI. my goal with the story was to make it as real as possible, which seems strange when you think about the plot, but that was what i was really striving for. as far as teenagers -- that's just always been my favorite age to write. i seem to understand that age better than any other -- or at least i think i do. and...ahem. my own kids haven't seen sixteen for a while.
james, thanks so much for joining the squad -- and pimping me twice!
What the hell, I'm always up for a party!
Check it out at Asian Fun... and because I have no idea how those tricky, smart people hyperlinked their blogs up there, I'll have to give you the ugly actual link that you'll have to copy and paste into your browser. Sorry!
http://maiwen18.blogspot.com/2006/09/project-pimp-squad.html
am i the only person a little turned on by tribe's posting even though he doesn't know what we're doing?
big pimpin'
www.emeraldcite.blogspot.com
thanks so much mai wen and andrea!!!
andrea, i tried to leave a comment on your blog, but the beta, but it wouldn't let me. same thing happened to bekbek's. guess the comment problem goes both ways. darn!
nancie: thank you! another pimp!! woot!
on bekbek's blog, she mentioned something about a bubble-blowing event which was actually a flash mob. i'd never thought about project pimp squad seeming a bit like a flash mob, but it does. kind of an internet flash mob. and i think the pimp/whore element takes it to that silly level that makes it fun.
Anne, you must be getting pretty close to the 100 blog mark. I know I've posted to more blogs than ever in a single day... and there were some that I regularly visit who have a post up but who haven't stopped by and made a comment, I just can't remember which ones, right now. Too many jello shooters might account for that though... nah, can't have too many jello shooters.... lol
susan, i think you're right. i have no idea if i'll every be able to do a count, but i wonder if it's going to go over a hundred. i think those jello shooters called to everybody. oh, and the possible nudity.
Hoo hoo! Jello shooters and nudity!!!
Even as abstract concepts in cyberspace (if not actual beverages and behavior) they are strangely motivating!
PALE IMMORTAL!!!
You might want to try Technorati.
It takes a while to update, and it doesn't come close to doing justice to reality, but it's a start.
http://technorati.com/search/annefrasier.blogspot.com%2F2006%2F09%2Fhow-soon-is-now.html
Hey Anne, do you know how many hits the video had last night and how many it has today? Maybe you can at least tell how many people watched the video today if you can't tell how many people blogged.
Hmm, this is strange. It won't let me post the comment (and of course if you are reading this it did. LOL)
Also, once Google spiders it, try this:
http://www.google.com/search?as_lq=http%3A%2F%2Fannefrasier.blogspot.com%2F2006%2F09%2Fhow-soon-is-now.html&btnG=Search
And as to the number who have watched the video, I see 600 views with the following from outside sites:
17 clicks from http://paleimmortal.blogspot.com/
10 clicks from http://tribe.textdriven.com/blog/
7 clicks from http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user...
3 clicks from http://www.myspace.com/annefrasier
2 clicks from http://danielhatadi.blogspot.com/
Just tried to comment on Bekbek's blog too - but wouldn't let me.
lex -- LOL. so true! i think it's the weird factor.
tami -- you're cute when you're drunk. :D the video had a little over a hundred views a few days ago. seems it was around 125 -- that's over a period of two months. last night -- damn. wish i'd written it down!!! i think it was around 300. so today so far -- around 300! woo-hoo!
stephen, thanks. i'll definitely do that!!
bailey, yeah she had some great comments about edge of your seat and stuff. pretty funny. that's too bad because i know she really wanted to be in on the crawl.
i want to apologize for not replying to the early pimps who left the first comments. i visited all the blogs, then by the time i got back here blogger was being an ass. i couldn't stuff any more candy in my bra or mouth, so i had to let some of it go on by. :(
we're all family here.
My post went up 1:15 in the morning. lol.
Anne, for all those beta blogs, you can either do 2 things:
1.Choose 'other' instead of your default blogger identity, then fill in the fields with your usual info.
2. I think someone said you can still go with your default if you preview your message first.
Since Blogger has had some problems too, I think "something" must be bogging down the blogging - overload?! LOL
Okay, I have to know. Did I miss the nudity while I was working all day?
You're Theresa Weir? I've seen those - I'll have to pick one up and check it out. *gg* The information I'm learning on this crawl. LOL
jaye, thanks for the tip. i'll try that.
bailey, what are you trying to say? ;)
helen, blogger was being as ass for most of the day so it put a damper on our nudity. but i'll have a lampshade on my head soon.
bailey revisited: LOL! no secrets here!
Take a picture, Theresa, er Anne!
Dear Anne,
Just wanted to let you know that I picked up PALE IMMORTAL at my local Barnes & Noble today. Had to ask for it, as it hadn't been shelved yet. Hopefully my request will help get the book out of the boxes today!
Good luck with the release. I think the story sounds fabulous!
we should all add a technorati tag:
pale immortal
okay, weird observation. Anne, did you realize that out of your 5 covers to the left there that 3 of them have half a face in the top half? I'm sure you have, but i JUST realized.
Yup, darn Beta. :)
jaye, that worked!
helen, oh, that's a scary thought.
lara, thanks for giving the bookseller a nudge! and nice blog.
emeradcite, i figured out how to do that a couple of months ago when you told me about it, but then i forgot. i know it's something simple.
tami, the idea had been to have faces or patial faces on all the covers. my idea for pale immortal was a close up of a face, with a tombstone reflected in a pair of glasses. i always imagined a blue cover too. weird how i always think of the color. i'm not sure why they went with something different for the two covers. those didn't sell as well, i know that. play dead is an interesting cover, but i don't think it tells a story and i don't think it attracted browsers.
I picked up Pale Immortal at the grocery store on Friday and loved it! And thought to myself how lucky I was to pick it up early. Hehehe.
Consider me just one more book whore who wants to be a pimp - I've posted the vid and my recommendation. Great idea, Anne!
www.chasinginspiration.blogspot.com
I'm posting my interview with Anne TONIGHT at www.ridingwiththetopdown.blogspot.com. You don't want to miss this humble pimp's contribution to the cause of getting PALE IMMORTAL on the USAT list and sending it into multiple printings. I've read the book, folks. It's reallyreallyreally good.
Oy, is nothing ever easy?
I like to buy my books from my local mystery bookstore. They're small and friendly and cool. I mentione Pale Immortal when I was in last week and they said they'd make sure they got it in. Alas, no. Something got messed up with the order, so probably next Tuesday.
Like I'm going to wait that long.
But that was okay, because Powell's on Hawthorne was right up the street, and I knew they would have it. Except they didn't.
Now, to be fair, they do have it. Four at the Beaverton store and two at the main store downtown. And 264 in the warehouse. They could have one at the Hawthorne store by tomorrow if I wanted to wait. But I'm not. I'm going downtown this evening anyway, so I'll be stopping at Powell's to pick it up.
Now watch. I'll get there and the two copies will be gone. Which will be good, but here's my question. Why on earth would one of the largest bookstores in the known universe bring in only two copies, when a branch store gets four? Unfortunately, I can't drive to the Beaverton store, so if downtown is out, I will have to ask them to bring one over from the warehouse to the Hawthorne store. Which could mean THURSDAY!
Aiieeeeeee!
Ahem, I'm giving one away next week on my blog.
Yeah, my pre-order from Amazon came today.
I bought Pale Immortal today at a Borders Express. With all the jello shots I had to have the four-year-old drive.
Holy smokes bill! I hope I don't run into this problem!
Not to sound ignorant, but I've always wondered. Is Powell's like a Barnes & Noble/Borders/Pages? We don't have them out here (on the west coast) that I've seen.
Powell's is a giant independent bookstore with half-a-dozen branches around the Portland area. In the last few years they've developed a pretty strong web presence as well. It's basically a reader's paradise. The main store downtown is the size of a city, multi-floored. You need a map to find your way around. Great place.
naomi -- thank you so much!!!! hug!
kathleen, thanks again for the interview! you asked some great questions.
bill -- aiieeeee! i haven't heard that in years! :D and i know what you mean about wanting to support the independents, but it does seem that things sometimes don't go as smoothly for them.
bailey, that's good to hear about the pre-order. i wondered how they worked that. right on the 5th. wow.
jaye: LOL! that was a great movie in my head.
tami: powells... i wonder if they're just located in oregon and washington? my sister-in-law raves about them.
bill, that's the store my sister-in-law is always talking about. she loves portland and powell's. (travels there a lot for work.)
Wow, powell's sounds awesome. There's nothing like that down here in So Cal. I've seen a lot of people linked to their online store. I'll have to check it out. Thanks Bill.
anne - anything to support an author I enjoy! Quick question, do you attend any of the MFW meetings? I won't be able to make your signing in Mpls but would love to suck up to you and get you to sign my copy. :)
jaye, that worked!
::curtsies:: Glad to be of service ma'am.
Still trying to keep up with the blog crawl. Maybe I shouldn't have started with Chilean wine?
You know what this makes me think, though, right?
Come on, you know it!
Yeah, that's it, you've got it: Yup:
Anne should write another book!
I KNOW! GREAT IDEA, RIGHT?
Cool.
bekbek
Do we hab anyie moe beer?
LOL, Jeff! I don't know, I've been pretty much laughing all day. I think I've reached my limit. =D
bekbek, i've got to make one more round to see what i missed in the last several hours. not sure what i'll do for the next book!
jeff, is the beer gone???
kelly, it was a great day. blogger acted up for a few hours, but that gave me a bit of a breather!
off to make the rounds!!!
Hey Anne -- just dropping by from Sandra's blog to say:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
May you sell a million. Make that two million. Okay, how about ten?
Sell a shitload of books!
(p.s. -- great pimping!)
this hear partie puts the gravie on my biscits.
Forgot to do this earlier, but I just pimpblogged the book I'm Not a Very Good Pimp. Pimpblogging - I think this needs to be a new word. Now, where's my crunk cup at?
Anne - 89 comments - FANFUCKINGTASTIC! You rock! I lost count, but lots of new faces dropping by and people I ran into out in cyberspace when I had a chance. This has been such a fabulous idea. Awesome - good for you!
I just finished a glass of Merlot with DH. I don't drink (and I haven't eaten my dinner yet), so I'm flying all over the house. LOL! OMG.
s.w. thanks so much for stopping by, and thanks for the shitload wish!!!! yes, i want to sell a shitload.
lester: i thought you were in jail!! *hug*
sandra -- it's been a great day. i sometimes get these crazy ideas, and nobody plays along. people played along this time. i can't believe it!!
tanya: LOL!! stay away from sharp objects!
Scandalous Shagswell here. My fingers are getting tired and my tongue is numb from all of the vodka - but I'm still going. This has been fun!
shagswell, you left some hilarious comments! so glad you were a part of this great day and party!
Well, mother isn't happy with me - but she'll get over it. LOL
Nancie - I tried your link but couldn't get through.
Whew! I think I was able to comment on all the blogs that didn't spit at me when I tried to breach their satin defenses. THAT WAS FUN!!! Anne, I can't wait to hear any statistics--or even just hunches--about today's festivities' effect on your sales.
And, by the way, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BOOK! :)
okay, weird observation. Anne, did you realize that out of your 5 covers to the left there that 3 of them have half a face in the top half? I'm sure you have, but i JUST realized
Just have another drink Tami. LOL
Holy cow, Anne, I think you did it - just about 100! Way to go! Of course it will take me the next few days to visit other blogs. Isn't that the reason it's called a "crawl" and not a "sprint"? ;)
Again, congrats - on everything!
Made it - I made it through them all - wow.
Thanks for the best time I've had in a long time.
I'm starting the second century of posts! And I had success. PI is now in my hot little hands, freshly purchased from the Powell's mothership! And I'm home so I get to finally do a little blog crawling!
mary louisa and christa: i would guess there are just as many bloggers who posted but didn't report here. most of the GCC girls as just one example. it's been wild!
thanks so much for being a part of it!
bailey: i enjoyed your company and comments!
tribe: LOL!
I saw a few people who didn't post here. Plus I got 73 visitors today, which means I got about 25 more than normal thanks to you.
Now the clean up starts--right after I call a cab for Jason.
woot!! glad you found a copy, bill.
now after all this pimping, i hope you like it. that's the scary thing about all of this. :O
jaye: who would have though jason was such a maniac? i'm shocked.
Okay Anne. San Diego update! You have a prime time spot on the front table right next to Tess Gerritsen, Stephen King and Jan Burke! Not too shabby. They had 6 copies up front (now five) and one in the Fiction section!!
Wow, just thinking about your book release has given me hemmoroids!
(Ask Bailey Stewart, it makes perfect sense, honest!)
bekbek
tami,
was the table their assigned spot? or was the placement a result of pimp action?
bekbek: i have to confess and take the blame for the hemmoroid post. *hangs head in shame*
I will love it, I'm sure! I'm already on chapter four, and I've only been home fifteen minutes!
Anne...*hiccup* what a freakin' party, man. Call me for another anytime...
;D
Although that does sound like something I would say.
I know, I know - I'm still up and tomorrow is going to be a killer. Just wanted to make sure Jason made it home all right. LOL
kelly, careful there.
bailey, LOL!
It was their spot! I was all ready to pimp it up to the front tables but didn't even need to! It was on the "New Paperback Arrivals" table. Not only that, but it looked like several were gone. Most of the books around it were stacked 3-4 books higher than PI, so I'm guessing that those sold.
Awesome party Anne. Congrats!
*kicks aside crumpled party hat*
*pries margarita from Angie Johnson-Schmit's limp hand*
*looks at confetti littering the pool deck.*
Just so you know, Anne. Ain't no way I'm cleaning this up.
Anne,
Next time I go to Borders, I'm pimping your "Pale Immortal" ride. IOW, I'm facing it out. You'll be noticed. :-)
Hugs, sweetie. Congrats. I wish you all the best.
Oh.
Almost forgot ...
BOOK--FRIGGEN--TRAILOR!
Tanya :-)
Ooops. That's TRAILER. :-)
All I know this morning is that crazy blogger "Anonymous" has some kind of freakin' split personality, eh?
Congratulations on a fine party (and book release). No, I will not come over and help clean up. :P
bekbek
I have a headache.
Hey, can any of you folks come over and pick me up?
Where am I?
*sighs*
*looks for street signs*
I really have no idea. I borrowed some change for the pay phone.
ooh, tami! nice pimp report. thanks!
m.g., i was seeing that same scene. :D
tanya, trailor! a new trademark!!!
bekbek, so glad i know i can stalk your blog with anonymous posts.
bailey, LOL. i'll bet you do!!
jason, can you smell the river? that might help you figure out where you are. smell the river. just smell the river.
question to self:
am i still drunk?
Oooh, it's Wednesday and my head hurts. Did anyone come up with how many people were at the pimp party?
nienke -- i'm going to try to get a rough count in a day or two, but i don't think it will be possible. there were so many who didn't post here. those are the ones who will be hard to track, and there were a lot of them. and many people who posted here posted in more than one place. i do think i was over a hundred though. i'm absolutely amazed and astounded. and happy too!!
