the new blog

i've been gradually adding things to the Pale Immortal blog. If you haven't been there you might want to start in the april archives. i hate the way it has to be read from bottom to top, and i keep wondering if i should just slap everything up in one long post rather than posting a couple of times a week. but one post would probably take forever to load.

I like what you're doing with the Pale Immortal website, Anne. It adds an extra dimension without giving the story away. A really cool idea. :)

I haven't had a chance to read through the entire thing, but are those photos ever cool. They really add to the feeling, I get this spooky sense about the book that intrigues me.

Here's a wacky idea. Why don't you post the first post as of the release date, then date each post a little earlier. That way the posts will always remain in the order you wrote them.

i'm lost, jason. are you talking about reposting them all? i can't actually change the post dates, can i? i have the uneasy feeling i'm being really stupid here. :D

Anne, bring your first post up to edit. Near the bottom, you'll see "Post and Comment Options." If you click that, you'll see a place to change the time and date. Roll that forward to your book release date, then hit publish. Your first post will now appear first on your page because it is the most recent (actually future). If you do the same thing with each post (making them all earlier, i.e., less in the future than the one before it), then the post will be reordered opposite to the way they are now. Each time you write a new post, just go down to that change time and date function and place it in the future, but not more in the future than the one before it. That way, your new posts will appear at the bottom of your page, rather than the top. Make sure, though, that your settings allow enough posts on your front page to show them all at once.

goddamn safari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

none of that shows up in safari!!!!!

none of the shortcuts at the top, and that whole comment strip isn't there. i just downloaded firefox last week. opened the page with it and there it all is. i never knew any of that stuff was there.

jeez!! this will make life much easier.

It looks great, Anne. The more I read, the more I can't wait for Pale Immortal. Really looking forward to reading it.

thanks, stephen. I mailed the ARCs the 14th, so you should have your copy soon. but that crazy airport post office... well, sometimes the packages never arrive. !
so far they've lost 2 manuscripts and 1 arc.

I'd freak out if they lost manuscript. See, I have this bad luck thing. It might be residual karmic influence from the life my father has led, but I know more bad things happen when he's around. Odd really.

I can see the post office losing something really important. It would probably be a matter of success and failure in my case...

Maybe that's why I never received an acceptance from that agent... :)

i know people who just carry a cloud of bad luck around with them. you think it's nonsense, there's no such thing, but over and over again bad shit happens.

i know i shouldn't mail stuff from the airport PO, but this is the MAIN post office. everything goes through there, it's near my house, and never a line. heyyyyy!!! slapping myself.

and they're open 24 hours a day. i love that.
