secret anthology

i have an idea for an anthology that is either brilliant or idiotic. i was going to blog about it, but i think i should keep it to myself until i either propose it or drop it. this is hard for me because i'm such a blabbermouth. it would require the involvement of a couple of high-profile writers, so i'm not sure it will happen. but i'm thinking the concept is fun and exciting enough to have real appeal.
that's all i'm saying...

Such a tease, Anne!! That's like offering us candy and giving us dental floss, LOL.

Oh well, you sparked my interest at least. :D

Yeah! what he said!

heh-heh-heh

that is a great metaphor. :D

my idea is something that has probably been done before, but not to the degree i'd want to take it.

I've had dates like that.

I'm sure you'll tell us soon, but oooh, my curiosity's piqued.

When is the deadline for submissions? ;)

Cool idea! I've seen other authors do this. They contact the authors they have in mind, right up a partial and which ever agent takes it to the pub house. I really see the anthologies do well with mulitple big name authors too!

I hope the idea gels and you get the other authors to jump in. =D

Well, this is one way to drum up a lot of curiosity!

I'm sure whatever your idea, it's fantastic, and wish you the best of luck with it.

If it doesn't work out and you need a low-profile writer, you know where to find me. :)

That's all I'm saying . . .

me too ;)

jeff -- LOL! oh wait. i'll be right back.

guffaw

stephen - i've seen examples of the LA dating scene on shows like blind date. :D *shudder*

stephen # 2 -- i'll let you know!

kelly -- that's what i'm thinking about. my problem is that i would have to reveal my big secret along with the invitation, so i have to try to invite people who would go along with it. that's the hard part. who would be the most open to something crazy???

sandra, thanks for the vote of confidence. i'm still going back and forth about my idea. could be one of the dumbest things i've ever come up with. :D

emeradcite: this is something that if it went over could be done more than once.

So do you have to be a high-profile writer to get in on this?

anne frasier said...

bethany, i got way ahead of myself by posting this. it's still in the dream/fantasy stage. the first anthology would have to feature some fairly big writers in order to sell. but if the idea went over i think it could work with a variety of writers. it would even be nice to feature a previously unpublished author. but right now i'm just talking out loud and dreaming about it.

What's the old line about virgins?

"Thanks for nothing?"

Not all virgins are teases, but I'll bet you were. A flash of ankle, hair tucked coyly behind your ear...

Whatever it is, good luck. :)

thanks for nothing -- LOL!

i'm sure i never flirted a day in my life. really. but then i always thought i was a painfully shy and quiet little kid -- people who knew me always say what a horrid brat i was. self-deception starts early i guess.

Well, I'm a big flirt, but I'm also pretty direct, so Jeff and EmeraldCite, let's do our UNKNOWN AUTHOR anthology. Lots of people will buy it...your wives, my kids, and hell, I'm the oldest of 9, we've got a great market right there. Jer

anne frasier said...

there you go, jer. although in my experience most family members expect free books. :D

Jerilyn Dufresne, author said...

What they expect and what they get are two different things. :)

So this is "Light, Syrupy Stories for the Dark Soul Anthology" right?

It was a dark, dark, dark, dark, and stormy night where the wind howled and moaned and did all the cliched things that wind did on dark and stormy nights.

anne frasier said...

jer -- yep. :D

emeraldcite -- i actually like The Dark Soul Anthology!!
love it, in fact!! :D

hmmmm....
